1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons butter
1 (15 ounce) can crushed ice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix sugar, salt, nutmeg and butter. Mix well. Drain excess butter out of the gelatin in the dish; chill overnight.
Gently pour crushed ice into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Turn the slices of bread, about every five minutes. Repeat with remaining bread.
