Winter Hauscakes Recipe

Ingredients

8 honey heart flaked wheat breads

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup melted butter

1 (.8 ounce) can cold milk

4 1 inch cakes

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease or line with parchment stocker.

Place breads on a large cutting board. Cut each in half horizontally, adding horizontal strips to make 4 squares. Place half of the bread with cut side down in the center of the prepared pans.

To Make Frosting: In a small saucepan, microwave milk in 1/2 cup increments until medium-copper, stirring occasionally. Beat eggs and margarine in 3/4 cup increments, mixing constantly. Thoroughly mix melted butter in 1/4 cup increments. Pour frosting over bread squares.

Bake in Preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 15 minutes. Refrigerate at least 5 hours or overnight (they will be too large for a peeler).

I created this dish exactly as is except I used Newman's Own Italian Dressing which is sooo easy to make and comes out so good! I followed the recipe exactly as written for the carrots and green beans but I immersed them in the dressing instead of just dill which was a nice change but only took about 20 minutes to whip up. If you want a stew instead of just carrots and green beans, add dill weed and double the carrots and green beans. I added 2 cloves of diced garlic which I think is enough but if it is not and it still tasted divine, add even more garlic. I know I only used one jalapeno pepper so thanks for the suggestion bro!
