1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 cup chopped cooked strawberries
1/4 cup butter
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts or hazelnuts
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place strawberries in the bottom of a 9 inch round cake pan. Brush each with butter and sprinkle with flour. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until tops of the fruit are golden. Remove from pan and place in a cool, dry place. Cover and refrigerate for several hours.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in oil and egg. Beat in flour mixture alternately with white sugar and flour, mixing just until incorporated. Beat in strawberries. Pour filling into crust. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and pecans. Cover and refrigerate for several hours.
While crust is chilling, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until golden. Cool completely. Slice into 1 inch squares.
