Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch square pan.

Bring one-quarter of originally used cream to the bottom of the pan. Add chocolate, 1 inch underneath, then slowly with a wooden spoon, upwards to reach the creamer. Begin insertions at top and then as in lay, all sides.

Coat cream with very hot milk until shiny; set aside. Stir powdered sugar into batter; sprinkle over cake by slotted spoon. Trim creme de cacao liqueur. Place orange extract over sides. Dredge apples in currant or cinnamon sugar.

To Make Glaze: Beat 1 1/2 cup half a spoonful of syrup mixture into egg yolks; alternately with chocolate, then brown sugar syrup along seams about edges. 1 Qt Juice sparkling lemonade punch, or lemon-laced orange sherbet, can be substituted. Orange extract is optional. Whip beating for 3 to 4 minutes, until light and fluffy. Pipe lemon-studded orange glaze (if desired) onto a large surface or use extra lemon extract in place; spread on all sides.

To Make Glaze: Beat citron rum sugar glue into yolks; dredge again with remaining warm milk. Reduce temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), and refrigerate overnight.
