2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 (2 ounce) package cream cheese
1/3 cup butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8x4 inch moldings.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and white sugar; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the egg, sugar and oil until light and fluffy. Beat in the milk, one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition. Mix together the brown sugar, egg mixture and vegetable oil. Gradually blend this mixture into the creamed mixture, mixing just until incorporated. Blend cream cheese and butter into the creamed mixture, then mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into prepared moldings.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
To make the frosting, In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, brown sugar and flour until well blended. Mix gently until smooth. Spread over cooled cake.
