4 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 cup packed light brown sugar
8 slices Italian bread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) loaf pans.
In a small mixing bowl, beat eggs slightly. Stir in sugar; beat until blended with eggs. Combine lemon zest, brown sugar, egg yolk and lemon zest; mix into egg mixture. Pour into lined pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until centers of two loaves of bread come out.
