1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a small bowl, combine water, sugar, whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well and set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the flour mixture, one tablespoon at a time, until well blended. Stir in the oats, chocolate chips and coconut. Stir in the pecans.
Divide dough into two pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Wrap in waxed paper and place in a shallow baking sheet. Butter a 9x13 inch baking pan or roasting pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until firm. Cool before cutting into squares.
