1 teaspoon butter or margarine
1 cup light brown sugar
5 lemons, juiced
1 cup fresh orange juice
3 1/2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 quart milk
6 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon zest
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon lemon zest
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix together first ingredient; butter, first 5 ingredients; lemon zest, third ingredient. Mix thoroughly. Pour into pastry shell. Place seam side down on or green serving platter. Cover tightly. Seam side up.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Cool, remove foil.
Cut into desired shapes. Garnish with orange zest.
