4 pounds potatoes
2 tablespoons butter, divided amountwise
2 teaspoons gravy powder
2 cups chopped cabbage
1 cup lima beans
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups heavy cream
6 slices bacon
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until just tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and cool.
In a large skillet, combine butter, gravy powder, cabbage, lima beans, salt, cream and bacon. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until bacon is crisp. Pour over potatoes and cook briskly 40 minutes longer.
