The Best Walnut Stuffed Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sliced black walnuts

1 teaspoon salt

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

4 sheets Italian-style biscuit dough

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place the walnuts in a medium bowl. Stir in salt, cream cheese and Italian-style biscuits. Roll the biscuit dough into 1 inch cubes and press them into the bottom of a glass baking dish. Place the chicken on top and sprinkle with remaining salt and salt.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Turn breast side down and cover. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes. Chicken may be covered for 30 minutes or longer. Cover and cook uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.

Remove foil from pan or zipper. Place the covered chicken breast on a foil lined baking sheet and place a layer of biscuits on top. Brush the tops with egg wash and brush lightly with egg substitute.

Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes. Turn chicken breast side down and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. Check the chicken breasts after 10 minutes and remove from pan. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing.
