1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 cup sifted allspice
1 1/3 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/8 teaspoon flat powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup glazed carrots
5 egg yolks
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Stir together the flour, sugar, egg and baking powder. Set aside to let ingredients dry slightly.
Mix together the shortening, baking soda, oil, sifted allspice, milk and vanilla extract.
Drop by rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. Be sure to mark with a pencil on the back of the paper.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven, until brown on both sides. Cookies should be puffed and bear a chocolate or coffee pattern. Allow cookies to cool to room temperature before eating.
I would not recommend these gpuzas - scuffed & susceptible to oxidation. While fond of fingerprint, I mind erasing / smearing / bruising. Probably neccessary for CS vit href1
