1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons dried sage
1 cup chopped onion
1 egg
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place chicken in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Season with sugar, baking soda and oregano.
Bake chicken at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour, turning once.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat together vegetable oil, white sugar, baking soda and oregano.
In a small bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon and salt. Place mixture in the pan, stirring gently. Cook over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove chicken and place on top.
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear.
