2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons dried basil
salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons basil oil
1/3 cup red wine
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsnip
In a large bowl, heat olive oil and garlic in large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion, cut side down, for about 3 minutes; cook for 3 to 5 additional minutes. Stir in flour, basil, basil oil and red wine. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes; stir in cream, parsnip and pepper. Cook, stirring, until thickened, about 5 minutes.
