1/2 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder/powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 cup white sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, flour, baking powder, baking soda, baking powder/powder and salt until smooth. Stir in the cornmeal and sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Mix brown sugar and cornmeal into the creamed mixture, then spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
