3 eggs
1 (18 ounce) package lemon cake mix
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups Swiss or carbonated beverage
2 cups lard
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10x15 inch pan.
In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and butter. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Combine lard and milk; stir together until smooth. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
