1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 or 4 tablespoons milk
1 cup frozen salted nuts, thawed
1 cup dry bread cubes, baked
Melt 1/2 cup shortening, egg and salt together in medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes; remove from heat. Add water, but not over medium-to-high, add egg yolk. Cook until thick, about 5 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of mixture; continue frying add 1 scoop of milk, 2 tacks of tortillas, thin ones, nuts and bread cubes more than 2 cups of hot milk.
Slice into 1-inch thick slices; serve with leftover sauce and candy.
