Mandy's Fudgey Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup white sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

3 egg whites

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch pie pan.

In a large bowl, stir together 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup white sugar. Mix in the flour, salt, and 1 cup of butter. Pour into the prepared pan.

In a small bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.

  In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of boiling water to just boiling, then place over the chocolate mixture and cook until light brown and thick, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk egg whites into the mixture. Pour into pie crust. top with 1 cup of whipped cream.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and the bottom is slightly sticky. Allow to cool before serving.
