2 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated extra refrigerated biscuit dough
4 eggs
2/3 cup hot water
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
Mix together biscuit dough and eggs in medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until most of liquid evaporates. Stir in hot water, salt and pepper. Continue to cook and stir constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in sour cream, nutmeg, paprika, cloves and salt and pepper. Serve hot.
I added 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. dried tarragon, 1 tsp. garlic powder, and 1 tsp. onion powder to the recipe. This is really good. I substituted lemon for the orange, I didn't have either. The taste is great--so elegant and smooth. I incorporated the raisins into the dough prior to rolling. I finished with a touch of cinnamon. I will make this again.
