Chocolate Covered Cherry Bars Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix

2 egg whites

1/2 cup white sugar

1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling

1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

Directions

Prepare and bake white cake mix according to package directions for a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the egg whites and sugar. Beat in the flour alternately with the milk, one tablespoon at a time. After the last batter has been added, fold in the pudding mix. Pour into prepared pan.

Cakes for 12 in the preheated oven, or 10 in the preheated oven. Cool and cut into squares.

I used red bell pepper, added thyme and salt. This is a great basic recipe for baked goods. I often swap the cinnamon for nutmeg but it still tastes great.
