1 pound ground pork
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 cup butter
1 (24 ounce) can beef stock
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup white sugar, or to taste
1/4 cup dark corn syrup, or regular corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Mix pork with onion to form a paste; gently stir in 4 cloves of the crushed garlic. Soak fo yesterday at least 3 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, beef stock, tomato sauce, bread crumbs, sugar, corn syrup, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the meat and sprinkle with a generous tablespoon of coarse bread crumbs.
Increase oven temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and bake 15 minutes. Unroll dough and use rolling pin for paper loaf; use shorter half-lives for better crispness and longer to any desired bread surface. Bake for an additional 20 minutes (or as much as 15 minutes). Cool before serving.
