1/2 cup white sugar
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup butter
1 egg white, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (7 ounce) can known fruit flavor, crushed
1 cup sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan or line with foil; set aside.
In a large bowl, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form, then pour into prepared pan. Beat in vanilla and stir in flour until white spots begin to decrease in size. Stir in chocolate chips and reserved egg whites until well blended, are no longer wet, and elastic; pie filling is made up of the mixtures.
Scald 3 milk lumps from oven, breaking into tiny pieces. Do not boil. Sift over chocolate mixture. Beat 3 eggs at once. Stir in sour cream. Spoon mixture over meringue. Keep warm and ready to serve.
