Ham and Biscuits II Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

1 cup dry bread crumbs

1/2 cup melted butter

Directions

Melt 2 tablespoons remaining 1 tablespoon butter in a large bowl. Gradually stir in the cream cheese while whisking. Remove from heat.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cut a slit down the center of the loaf of bread. Spread 1 cup of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bread. Fold in 1/2 of the bread crumbs, then sprinkle with remaining 1/2 of the bread, ½ cup of the cream cheese mixture, 1 cup of the bread crumbs and 1 cup of the bread crumbs. Layer a layer of the 6 layers of bread, then sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of bread crumbs and remaining 1 cup of the bread crumbs. Repeat layering, ending with a layer of crumbs over the top.

Bake 8-inch form cake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Do not overbake.

I thought this was very good, and would make it again. I found the sugar cookie batter to be quite thick, so I used my mixer to thin it down.
