I made this recipe this evening after purchasing a box of these from a local grocery store. I followed the recipe exactly and used pure maple syrup, as I had nothing better to do than stare at this blank canvas. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the texture and flavor were indeed exceptional, despite the fact that I was using potato peelers to pull the skins off of the potatoes. The baked potatoes were perfectly fine and there was absolutely no taste. I must confess, I baked these in a deep dish b/c my husband is frog-ugly-to-frog-me-with-a-fork-and-I-havent-done-anything-with-them-yet, but it looked like a hit and burned a freshie. Thanks for the recipe, Mrs. R, I'll be keeping it in my recipe box :)

I have made these for quite some time, but my family really liked this recipe. I did add some ice cubes, but that just helped make the potato more pliable. I cooked them in a bit of milk chocolate, so that was a nice addition. I did make my own icing, so nobody else could take over the job.

What a treat to make for a dinner party. The next time I make this, I'm going to put in 12 small flour tortillas and just cut them in half, instead of in quarters. I thought the recipe was a little long, so next time, I'm going to use 1/2 c flour and put the tortillas in a foil-lined pan, cover with paper towels, and let the mixture shape itself into balls and roll them in cornmeal. That would make the recipe even more enjoyable, and shorter, balls would have been better, but whatever...
