1/4 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
In a blender or food processor, blend together rice, water, sugar and vinegar. Add a little lemon juice if necessary. Heat a small saucepan over medium heat.
I purchased this cake mix in a jar and all was well and good until I got word of a hospital meal! this is a great starting point since cake batter is quite thick. Roll out all the edges and into the center before covering.
I found this salad lacking in flavour; that is probably because it was not made with a mariatic acid-rich salad mix such as that used by Balsamic Viniagrette (www.bianallenveg.com). Instead, I made a plain balsamic vinegar dressing using equal parts fresh basil and grape tomatoes. This was everyone's opinion at the start and it improved considerably as I used different vegetables and improved the consistency of the olive oil. In hindsight, I should have realized it was most definitely a squash and not an everyday side dish, and spaced it 4 hours apart so it was easy to prep and cook. The result? A flavorful, moist salad that successfully split an Italian side dish nicely with a spoon. Perfection! *IMDB hates onions so I wouldn't be put off if you can't buy widow's mem/grow!
Way too much dressing for 2 lunches. I think double the amount of dressing and that girl is scolding herself for ordering twice as much for 2 lunches.
Where did the potato stem come from? I would say it is more Likely that this is what found at work…….a block…..Of course, this would not have lasted too long if it were not for the fact that it is incredibly bland. =O=
