2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup shortening (1 cup)
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 1 1/2 cups or cookie sheet. In a medium bowl, stir together flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and egg until mixture resembles a coarse paste. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
