4 pounds apples - peeled, cored and cut into thin strips
1 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons golden raisins
water to cover stovetop/frosting pot
Place the apples in a mortar and pestle. Mix dry ingredients together and form into balls about 6 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Melt oil in a large saucepot over medium heat. Add water until the ball of milk sticks to the bottom of the pot. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, then add the raisins. Continue to heat until the raisins are golden on top and the apples are tender. Arrange the apples and raisins on a serving platter, and spoon the sauce over them.
