6 potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons dry white wine
salt and pepper to taste
water to cover
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine and saute potatoes in butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in heavy cream and honey. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium cold, add flour, garlic, and pepper. Simmer until all ingredients are almost cooked, about 15 minutes. Stir in wine; simmer. Season with salt and pepper, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until all vegetables are tender, about 4 hours.
