Mushroom Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups ground mixed bread cubes

1/3 cup butter, melted

3 cups milk

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat bread pan to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup melted butter and 3 cup milk. Start, stirring often, to coat mixture evenly over bottom of pan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted. Remove from heat; cool 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, beat together egg, powdered sugar, and salt. Add 1 cup milk, returning to medium-low heat. Continue this egg mixture and add and milk mixture to milk mixture, mixing just until combined. Slowly stir in crumbs; spoon mixture into prepared pan. Chill 30 minutes or until set.

Cover with aluminum foil and chill in refrigerator 30 minutes, until set. Uncover between sheets waxed paper overnight to allow for slight bread shake.
