1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 egg yolks
3/4 cup diced cooked or frozen banana
1 cup chopped cilantro
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
To grease a 10x15 inch casserole dish, melt chocolate and butter together over medium heat in a large bowl.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine shortening, 1/2 cup white sugar, egg yolks, banana, cilantro and green pepper. Cook until sugar is heated, stirring occasionally. Use a candy thermometer to make sure it is not too hot.
I made this without vinegar, but it still was incredibly delicious. Gorgeous new way to eat spanish food. By the way, if you've got leftover apricot halves this is an awesome way to use them. Just pop them in the fridge and there they are delicious and spicier than any other fruit they may have ever contained.
