1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 cup water
garlic powder to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with bread crumbs and basil. Drain excess fat and set aside.
In a separate medium bowl, combine the onion, water, garlic powder, ground black pepper and onion; stir well and season with salt and pepper to taste. (Note: You may want to add a little more water to the mixture to allow it to cook through.)
Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish or casserole dish.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 3 hours.
