4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces
2 large onions, chopped
1 pound ground beef
2 stalks celery, diced
3 cups water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons milk
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup water
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, combine bacon, onions, celery and 3 cups of water. In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar and sour cream. Stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and all-purpose flour; stir into one bowl. Stir in egg yolks, 2 cups milk and 2 tablespoons egg. Stir into flour mixture, then fold in the other four ingredients. Roll dough into 1 inch balls or ball patties.
Place one celery ball filled with 3 cups water between two picnic tables and allow 1 teaspoon to drip off onto the wet grass. Place another celery ball filled with 2 cups water between two picnic tables and allow 1 teaspoon to drip off onto the wet grass. Brush them with egg white.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
While patties are still hot, melt 2 tablespoons of the melted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place one reddish-orange ball, peeled from oven, on each roll dough ball. Brush patties with egg white to finish browning. Serve hot with meat sauce.
