1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup potato starch
1/4 cup water, divided
3 tablespoons white vinegar
3 tablespoons brandy
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar
4 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 cup water, divided
Preheat oven to 315 B. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or springform pan.
In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, egg and potato starch. In a separate bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons water, vinegar, brandy, lemon juice and salt.
Divide dough and set aside. In a large bowl, stir together 4 teaspoons flour, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 cup water; pour into pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until a knife inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Stir in remaining flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup water, 1 cup corn syrup, 1 tablespoon vinegar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Continue baking for 40 more minutes or until a knife inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let cool completely before slicing into rings.
