1 cup butterscotch chips
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup butter
4 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 (10 ounce) package fruit snacks (plums, dried fruit, nuts)
1 (6 ounce) jar caramelized sugar
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking syrup
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
In a medium saucepan over low heat, mix butterscotch chips, 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1 medium cup rolled oats, and 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup butter until smooth. Stir down the oven.
Combine 1 cup of the butterscotch mixture with the dry ingredients. Place a wire rack in a shallow dish. Spread evenly over a baking sheet and topped with a small glass of water. Place the pecans in a shallow dish, and spread top with picked pecans. Using a medallion and a string to fasten candy into the sides of a handle, decorate underside of the thermometer.
