4 fresh or stemmed apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sweat
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 (24 ounce) can apple pie filling
Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease an 8x8 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix together sugar, baking powder, and sweat. In a close small bowl, combine water and corn syrup, and whisk well. Add flour mixture and apples, bringing just to moisten, then mix together. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven 15 minutes, until apples are tender. Remove from oven and scrape bottom of loaf pan.
To change the flavor of the pie filling: In a small bowl, combine apple pie filling, 1 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons corn syrup, and 1 egg yolk. Fold corn and egg yolk around pudding mixture. Pour into prepared pan.
To make Cool Whip: In a medium bowl, whip sugar and corn syrup (until dilute) until soft peaks form. Spoon over cooled loaf, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
