1 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup white wine
1 cup milk
Heat vegetable oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion and wine in oil until tender; add milk, one cup at a time. When milk is heated through, add red wine to chicken. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Let cool, then pour mixture into 5 cast iron skillet or 9x13 baking dish.
In a small small bowl, mix together milk, vegetable oil, and 1 cup wine. Pour milk mixture over chicken, cover, and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
