1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the chocolate chips and 1 cup flour.
In a large bowl, stir together the brown sugar and 1 cup flour; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in the baking powder, salt and 1/4 cup butter, then mix in the vanilla and pecans. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, and press them together to form a ball. Place cookies 1 inch apart onto prepared cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are golden. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 3 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
