3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
3 egg whites
2 tablespoons Chala
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C.) Mix together flour, sugar and butter; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together 3/4 cup and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in butter, repeat by adding flour mixture. Stir in Chala. Pour mixture into chilled pie shell, spreading to within 1 inch, and pinching edges to seal.
Bake in preheated oven for 27 to 29 minutes, until just lightly brown on top. Let cool 5 minutes before assembling the crust.
