Potatoes and Oat Bran Bread Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups uncooked white rice

1 cup applesauce

1 cup butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sweet pickle relish

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Stir rice, applesauce and butter into a saucepan and bring to a rest. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, stirring just until rice and butter are absorbed.

Remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar and pickle relish; mix well and continue stirring for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium high and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and continue cooking for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, or until oats are tender, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let stand 1 minute. Stir in white sugar mixture until absorbed. You may need to spoon the mixture over bread evenly.
