1 2/3 cups water
3/4 cup vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
6 onions, crushed
3 tablespoons soy sauce
4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
4 eggs
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil and cook uncovered, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in oil, garlic and thyme. Bring to a boil and stir in onion. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook, covered, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until onions are tender. Remove from heat.
In a large rice cooker, combine the onions, soy sauce, Cheddar cheese, eggs, rice vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir constantly so that the mixture thickens.
I made this quick, easy recipe and they ate it... but not as quickly as I would have liked. So I put the sauce over peanut butter sandwiches and they were delicious.
