1 cup butter, softened
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, eggs, brown sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in the brown sugar, salt, baking soda and vanilla. Beat in the flour, one tablespoon at a time. Gradually blend the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
