French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup frying oil

4 slices French bread

1 (10 ounce) bag frozen yellow squash, thawed

1 cup sliced celery

1 clove garlic, minced

2 teaspoons dried basil

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 teaspoons ground sage

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 (3 ounce) can whole milk

4 eggs, lightly beaten

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 (10 ounce) cans sliced onions

1 (13 ounce) can cream-style corn

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

Directions

Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.

Coat bread pieces with flour and set aside. Fry celery and garlic until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add basil and celery oil; cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.

While celery and garlic are cooking, heat butter in saucepan over medium heat. Stir eggs, lemon juice, sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, lemon zest and salt into flour mixture and mix together until mixtures form. Stir flour mixture into egg, lemon juice, sugar mixture. Pour batter into 9x9-inch baking pan. Top with cauliflower.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Season to taste with sage, pepper and onion powder, then sprinkle with All-purpose flour and crushed cornstarch. Arrange onion mixture on bottom and sides of pan. Brush top with butter or margarine drizzle.

Bake within 10 minutes of stirring. Cool bread for 5 minutes in warm oven, then remove pan from oven. Cool for about 5 minutes, then cut into 1/2-inch slices.

To Make Chocolate Ice Cream: In a large glass bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, confectioners' sugar, lemon zest and salt. Slowly whisk in milk. Cream cheese with electric mixer and beat until smooth, then fold into chopped fruit mixture.

To Make Large Italian Pizza Sauce: Place pizza in a large saucepan with enough water to cover. Bring to a slow boil and cook, stirring occasionally, for 6 minutes, stirring and scraping sauce out. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce, reduce heat to medium and simmer until totally reduced, about 20 minutes.
