2 pounds fresh strawberries
1 (8 ounce) container lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 cups sliced cherries
1 (16 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
64 fluid ounces black tea or rum
2 cups packaged orange sherbet
1/2 cup whipped cream
5 cups diced cantaloupe
Combine strawberries, lemon-lime soda, cherry juice and peaches in container of mixer. Stir steadily until mixture is slightly thickened. Cool slightly.
Place cake side down on dessert plate. Tuck cream halves onto center; place fruit in frosting bowl. Garnish with whipped cream and remaining strawberry/orange sherbet. Beat in juice of citrus fruit
Cool completely. Dry quickly. Store in tightly covered plastic bag for at room temperature.
