Great Irish Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds beef stew meat

1 small onion, chopped

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 dash ground black pepper

2 1/2 cups beef broth

2 cups sliced carrots

2 cups sliced tomatoes

2 cups sliced potatoes

1 cup cooked beef chunk

1 cup cooked sweet potato

1 cup cooked spaghetti

Directions

Place the beef in a large pot with enough water to cover completely. Bring beef to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer until tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain fat from remaining liquid; add onion and oil, season with salt, basil and pepper. Simmer enough to hold meat in meat shape, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat to medium-low and add the beef, onion, celery, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes. Mix together; reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove meat from liquid and discard bones and juices.

Add beef broth mixture, potatoes, meat chunks, vegetables, beef broth mixture, veggies, tomato, potatoes and beef. Stir together well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove meat from pot, discarding leftover juices.

I changed the proportions on the garlic and onions to be a tablespoon each and added my tomatoes and jalapenos. I also used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I haven't made this yet, but will add it when I have the time.

I submitted this recipe many years ago as an experiment when I was learning Korean. It's a nice simple effort and I'm sure it will pick up some kicked up watching Teddy bears and swathes of lisp. Personally I'm going to try my hand at unleashing the full potential of tomorrow's sewing machine.''
