Yeast Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 cup lukewarm milk

3 eggs, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (8 ounce) package cinnamon flavored Jell-O mix

1/2 teaspoon lemon extract

1/2 cup margarine

1/4 cup white sugar

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 cup sour cream

1 egg white

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.

Arrange flour, baking powder, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, baking soda and almond extract on a large baking sheet.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, spray the top and bottom of the bread pan with non-stick spray spray. Allow to cool.

While the bread is baking, beat eggs in a small bowl. Stir egg mixture into a small bowl, and knead until smooth. Slowly pour the flour mixture into the egg mixture until well blended. Pour the egg mixture over the chilled crust.

Bake for 45 minutes in the center of the oven, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Brush remaining lukewarm milk on top of the bread, and sprinkle with cinnamon flavored gelatin.

After 45 minutes, brush with margarine. Remove bread from oven. Let cool for 10 minutes. Flip the loaf onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, and brush with remaining lukewarm milk. Bake 15 minutes in the center of the oven, or until the top is golden brown.

While the bread is cooking, mix 1 cup sour cream into cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar mixture over hot water in a small bowl. Beat with an electric mixer or stand mixer until blended. Spread on top of cooled loaf. Serve warm.
