1 cup water
3 cups uncooked mini chow mein noodles
3/4 cup shredded cabbage
1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 (10.75 ounce) can diced green chiles
1 cup sliced onion
salt and pepper to taste
Dry the noodles, pour in water, and sprinkle with cabbage. Heat to boiling in ten minutes, reduce heat, cover, and simmer 5 minutes more. Drain, and set aside.
Stir the soy sauce, crushed red pepper, vinegar, brown sugar, chiles, onion, salt, and pepper into the hot water mixing to just marinate. Return noodles to boiling and stir for 5 minutes, or until al dente. Drain, and repeat with the chicken, vegetable, salad, fruit, and cheese. Serve hot or cold.
