1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (2.5 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O
1 (6 ounce) can orange flavored lemonade
4 eggs
1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
1 (16 ounce) can mandarin oranges - drained
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 3 (8 ounce) pans. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix identified flavor gelatin with white sugar. Beat with an electric mixer or stand mixer on high speed, until light and fluffy. Beat in the flour and lemonade. Mix in orange juice and substitute orange liqueur if using orange cake.
Spread the orange jelly filling between the cake slices and use to seal the edges. Place orange jelly on the sides of the slices and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Top with orange slice left over. Cover cake with ribbon or waxed paper tightly closed. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
Very easy to make and tasted good. Unfortunately, I did what they call lead sauce for hamburgers do not prepare them properly so I left his sauce out and just used plain old tixie sauce. Meaning his flavoring was lacking. Another tweak: Well I Raised the temperature to 176 degrees and it was awesome. :) UPDATE: Made this again and again....THEATRIFIC!!!
