Spicy Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 pint cornbread

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch loaf pan.

In a large, heavy skillet, mix brown sugar, white sugar, cornbread, water, baking powder, salt, milk and vanilla. Heat at medium heat. Remove from heat and stir until sugar mixture begins to thicken. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crust is golden brown. Cool completely before removing from pan. Serve warm. Cool overnight before slicing.
