4 cups water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 small onions, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
In a large pot over medium heat, bring water and lemon juice to a boil. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Add olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, onions, salt, oregano, basil, oregano and basil; reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in marjoram, one tablespoon at a time, stirring well after each addition. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 5 minutes.
