1 cup margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup flaked coconut
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream together the margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla and flour until smooth. Beat in the butter, white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Mix in the flour and baking soda. Mix in the salt and coconut. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until brown. Allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheet before removing from pans.
