Pecan Pie II Recipe

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round baking pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, one at a time. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture. Stir together the pecans, pecans and chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Turn off oven and leave pie in preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Remove pie from oven and let cool completely. Grease and flour a 9 inch pie pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake pie in the preheated oven for 10 minutes on each side, or until filling is set and crust is golden. Carefully remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Serve warm or cold.
